tl017
Hi All, I installed Mandriva2006 64bit version. Everything is ok, except that a normal user is not allowed to burn CD´s. I activated the non-root-modus in xcdroast and made myself member of the groups CD and cdwriter, but it does´nt helped. As root xcdroast and K3b are working fine. Tanks in advance, tl017
Aomighty
I'm not sure if this is what you meant by the group "CD", but make sure you're in group "cdrom."
ianw1974
What security level did you choose? By default it's High. If a desktop, I usually use standard, you don't really need it any higher than this for a desktop.
scarecrow
I haven't used XCDRoast for ages, but K3B can use a special group ( burning ) to resolve issues in special cases. Normally an IDE or USB burner wouldn't need that, but a firewire or SCSI one may need this recipe.
willie
Use K3b and go to the KDE configurationcenter/system/K3BSetup run it as root and you can burn dvd - cd as a user without a problem
tl017
Hi All, I tried all the things that you suggested but it did´nt help. So I am giving it up! Running audacity and k3b as root now and changing the files owner afterwards. But thank you all again for the supplied advices. tl017
