Nvidia Driver(solved)

Hi, long time reader, first time poster. Thanks to your great topics on installing the Nvidia driver I've had no trouble installing the driver. However once using the driver, the screen shifts down a couple of pixels cutting off the bottom of menu bar. I'm unable to see parts of the date and the full name of the menu button. I'm using Mandrake 2005LE with the 2.6.11-6mdk kernel. Returning the driver back to the standard vesa driver corrects the problem and my screen is properly positioned. If anyone can help with this problem or point me towards a previous topic it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This difference between Windows screen position and the Linux position occurs when you use different screen frequencys, e.g. 75hz in windows and 70 or 65 or 60 hz in Linux.

Try to set up with both OSs using the same screen frequency then you can reposition the sceen to a position that suits both OSs.

Cheers. John.
