Guest ndeb
When I click on a desktop icon (removable media and trash only) it pops up the window just fine but also gives an error message: KDEInit could not launch 'kfmclient' This problem was not there with the 3.1rc6 texstar rpms. DragonMage
Hmm.. you are right.. I wonder what happens if you rename the Desktop and the .kde directory and let kde rebuilt itself. Would that error happen also?
Counterspy
I used urpmi *.* and it asked for both install disks CD1 and CD2. It saved hunting for unresolved dependencies as it is supposed to do. Counterspy
ezroller
yeah URPMI is cool, but so many other packages that I have used are cooker and I like reading about the packages on rpmfind.net so I know what I'm installing.
Guest LinuxExplorer
I get the same error associated with kfmclient. I haven't seen it actually affecting anything yet. I thought it was supposed to be part of the kdebase rpm?
Guest ndeb
Hmm.. you are right.. I wonder what happens if you rename the Desktop and the .kde directory and let kde rebuilt itself. Would that error happen also? After installing kde3.1, I removed my ~/.kde, ~/.kderc and ~/Desktop and then started KDE. So thats not the cause. I get the same error associated with kfmclient. I haven't seen it actually affecting anything yet. I thought it was supposed to be part of the kdebase rpm? It is. And I haven't seen it affecting anything yet. But its a bug anyway that wasn't there in kde3.1rc6 rpms from texstar.
