arctic
For those who want to submit the last bugs they found to Mandriva for the upcoming 2006 release: this is your last chance. Mandriva just released 2006 RC2. Additional information on changes since RC1, as well as download links can be found here: http://www1.mandrivalinux.com/en/mandrival...-2006-beta.php3 Have fun testing and remember to report bugs. If you have questions about this release and bug-reporting, take a look at the Mandriva site and the new Cooker forum, too. :)
solarian
word of caution: don't download RC2 if you plan to use it as your main distro at least atm, because usability isn't as good as that of 2005 official, particulary on the USB side. Also virtual networks seem to not function well.
arctic
 Well, of course it is not totally stable and 100% usable. This is still a development release which WILL be buggy!
solarian
Of course. :) But it has more problems than RC2 of 2005 had.

Rainer
On the topic of 2006, one thing I didn't expect to see when sifting through the indivdual packages on a custom install, (which I'm happy about) is Fluxbox :) - previously I've urpmied it from contrib - can anyone confirm, is Fluxbox "new" in 2006?
