SMP enabled kernels are present in Mandy's "main" repository. Current 2005LE version is kernel-smp-2.6.11.6mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm, and current Cooker version is kernel-smp-2.6.11.10mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm

Just set your URPMI repositories properly (say from easyurpmi.zarb.org), and then "urpmi kernel-smp". You have to enable the kernel at your bootloader after that (use mcc for simplicity).

SMP kernels should be used with caution, as they create some annoying side-effects with a few apps (e.g. a serious memory leak with Vmware workstation).

... and CPUFREQ is disabled. How can power management features such as suspend to disk work then? Edited by coverup
