kristi
I noticed in the 2005A (KDE3.4)(club release) that shorewall is activated and mail server is checked. I unchecked it, but wondered about the consequences - what have i missed (I use guarddog) and leave security at high. Kristi
devries
The mail-server is used to send security emails every night to an email address (MCC). Configuration is pretty tight so it's not a security risk.

I guess guarddog isn't blocking it, because guarddog blocks everything unless you expressly allow it... . So I'm not understanding the function of having shorewall expressly allow it? Why bother since - oh, maybe it's just a reminder NOT to block it...?
