theo
did you untar (extract files from the tar archive) the files ??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes, but that doesn't matter cause I can't even get in the desktop dir for some reason, anyway, I'm gonna go eat i'll be back later... sorry for being such a newb :P <{POST_SNAPBACK}> don't understand ?!? cd /home/your_nickname/Desktop or cd install_flash_player_7_linux does'nt work?? if not tries to copy the tar.gz file elsewhere ... as a newb here's advices: - make the majority of the actions in konqueror and only the minimum in the console (learn step by step) - use the navigation bar of konqueror to locate you - use the ls command to list the fils in the current directory - try, try, try until it works ;) Edited May 12, 2005 by theo

theo
nice! some progress! then! just let this field blank and press enter! that worked for me. after that, follow my how-to (return to the first page of this topic) to configure firefox: - copy all files locate in the plugins folder of firefox to the plugins folder of mozilla (/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins) - delete the plugins folder of firefox - create a (sym) link in firefox named plugins who points to the plugins folder of mozilla (very easy with two sessions of konqueror: just drag & drop from one folder to another one and select the create a link option in the menu who appears) - type about:plugins in a new sessions of firefox to view the results see you here! Another tip for newb: - use the TAB key in terminals to use the mega hypra supra auto-complete tool! (less errors with directories, files, ...) - if you don't find your firefox installation folder, type which firefox in a terminal to locate the installation folder of firefox and if does'nt work, in konqueror, go in the tools menu and find files (look in the / directory, not only your /home directory) Edited May 13, 2005 by theo
NitramBelac
progress yes! lol... the problem was to change directories I was typing "ls" and not "cd" lol... stupid me, it's like irc dcc sessions.... ok... well.. I press enter and it says to enter a valid installation path... I think it's because I use Konqueror so where is the installation path of Konqueror? I think it's because I use Konqueror so where is the installation path of Konqueror? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no ... the directory is /usr/lib/mozilla/ or /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (check it) but normally if you press enter with empty field, the installer find the path, no? if it doesn't work, I don't know?! first of all, check if you've got the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory good luck! there is progress! (and all of that actions will serve you later) Edited May 13, 2005 by theo

theo
lol ... ok ... then, try to give your firefox directory in this case mine is: /usr/share/firefox or try /usr/share/firefox/plugins but yours can be elsewhere, found it with the method explained in a previous post.
