Trio3b
Noob using MDK 10.0 w/2.6.3-7. I have now installed flashplayer, java plugins in Mozilla and also a dialup modem driver. I would like to install this configuration on 3 or 4 more PCs. I could just load the OS and reinstall all this stuff individually, but it would be nicer if I could install this configuration all at once on each new PC. Is this what is meant by compiling in order to incorporate the new stuff in the kernel ? How is this done/tutorials? I have painfully limited CLI experience, but willing to try. thanks
devries
No what you want to do is make an image (a copy of all the files on the PC) and copy it to another PC. Just make sure the other PCs are in a network and copy the files. Building/compiling is turning source (lines of code) in binary (the program that works)
iphitus
Be aware that copying your existing install to other PC's will not work unless their partitioning is done already and that they have similar hardware. Even then you'd need to install grub. It would probably in the long run be quicker to do a clean install on each computer
