Wacom Intuos2 tablet problem in Mandrake 10.1

Hi,

Have just installed Mandrake 10.1.

It sees my Intuos2 Wacom USB Graphics Tablet, but nothing happens. The pen doesn't activate the mouse.

I've been told that Wacom's Graphire3 works 'out-of-the-box' (no, don't tell me to go and buy one of those :))

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any assistance/redirection.

Regards.

Open a console, log in as root and type: modprobe -r usbmouse (that will unload that module. don't worry your mouse will still work :) ) and try again. If that doesn't work, download the module source from the linuxwacom site ( http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/ ). In it you will find a newer module (in windows speak: a new driver) for the Xserver (note: for the Xserver! not for the kernel). Read the instructions carefully how to replace it.

PS: just to be safe: type as root lsmod and check if the wacom module (driver) is loaded (installed).

Good luck.

That't the tar yo need yes. In it you will find a folder called prebuilt. In it is the module (driver) you need. Rename the module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o and rename and replace it with the appropiate one from the tar (I don't remember wich one so google for it first).

Good luck.
