Guest fv6973
Hello, I am a new Linux user (Mandrak e 10.1), and all looks like a bit complicated, for me. I've bought a webcam (Philips ToUcam II pcvc 820k), and it does not work. With Windows, all was automatic... I don't know what to do... Darkelve
I don't know what to do... Start here: http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=19847 For your question, I found this: http://lists.ze-linux.org/2004-05/msg00705.html Je possede aussi cette webcam, je parvient a la faire fonctionneravec SDLcam mais si quelqu'un a réussi a la faire tourner avec Gnome Meeting Jve bien qu'on m explique :) Merci d'avance Basically, someone with the same webcam as you is saying he got it to work with SDLcam (but cannot and would like to get it to work with Gnome Meeting). The Original Poster there also says that his camera is recognized as a "OV518 WebCam" And on another website: http://linuxforums.org/forum/topic-25126.html someone claims this camera needs the "ov511 omnivision driver", which, he says, should be available from http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/ I would try this website. Take a look at these pages in particular: http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/cameras.html http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/faq.html You can download the driver for your webcam here: http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/download.html Be sure you check your kernel version and pick the right one correspondingly.
