mtweidmann
I'm trying to install some VCR software called MythTV. But I'm having problems with its list of dependancies. One package it needs is called: perl-XML-Twig-3.09-0at2.noarch.rpm Which I have. But when I try to install this rpm it comes up with the following: [root@localhost Rpms]# rpm -i perl-XML-Twig-3.09-0at2.noarch.rpm error: failed dependencies: perl(:WITH_ITHREADS) is needed by perl-XML-Twig-3.09-0at2 perl(:WITH_THREADS) is needed by perl-XML-Twig-3.09-0at2 perl(:WITH_LARGEFILES) is needed by perl-XML-Twig-3.09-0at2 How do I get these dependancies resolved? Ronin
Have you set up urpmi with a good selection of sources? That usually takes care of those damned dependiencies. Check out: http://speculation.org/garrick/urpmifaq.txt for a nice easy to follow tutorial on setting up urpmi.
Ixthusdan
Yes, set up urpmi. It is excellent. The only other thing to do is to manually search rpmfind.net and get each one as it comes up. It is a pain! I remember installing a program, and with the depends having depends, I ended up installing 13 files!!!
mtweidmann
Thanks for advice people. Ronin: I've got a couple of things added urpmi, such update, contrib, club, etc... But I'll ahvea ook aorund and set up cooker see if that helps. lxthusdan: I tried using rpmfind.net, but I don't know what packages I'm meant to install. Just a rather cryptic message about Perl (which I know nothing about).
