Hi all,

How can I play a DVD with mandrake 9.1 ?

I put the disk in the DVD reader but it doesn't work

I put it with windows 98SE on the same machine and it works immediatly

isn't there a provision in the last linux issues to allow the DVD's to be played without further configuration ?

thanks for your help

i suggest after you get libdvdcss, that you get the dvd player xine... it is quite possibly the best dvd player ever created...

Wow. No hessitation there :D

Yeah, libdvdcss is a must. I personaly use Mplayer and Xine. Sometimes I'll run into one that won't play on one or the other, and it's nice to have a backup.

Pray tell why your headline said "DVD playing on Mandrake 9.1" and yet later on you are talking about suse9.1 as confirmed in one of your posts.

It seems a little hard to make a mistake about two dissimilar names.

Just wondering.

John.
