Peppercorn
Hi all, I have lost all of my programs from my start menu in both KDE and Gnome desktops???!!! I am running MDK 10.1 and I am at a loss as to how or why this has happened. If I run kde-config I get the new window with absolutely nothing in it like not ONE icon!!! Can anyone give me a clue as to what I can do?? thanks in advance
liquidzoo
update-menus -v in a console. That should fix the issue. Couldn't tell you why they're missing in the first place. You use menudrake recently for any reason?
Peppercorn
Thanks LZ No I hav'nt been playing with Menudrake. Actually I cannot remember what I did to cause this one. All I can think of is Mplayer would install but not open. I uninstalled and reinstalled Mplayer a couple of times, that's all. But when I run that command that you give me it sticks on Running method: /etc/menu-methods/simplified/gnome And won't go any further. But by running it I have "Multimedia" back on the menu in KDE but that's all. Any more ideas??????? HELP!!

Gowator
peppercorn, can you just clarify what you did.... was it my 'guess' solution or just reapplying LZ's... just for others since this seems a fairly common prob.
