bardinjw
i just upgraded my mandrake 10.1ce to kde3.3. maybe this wasn't such a good idea, but they supplied the rpms, so i thought i'd try. when i'm in kde i have no keyboard response at all...none. if i boot runlevel 3 i'm ok, so it's not hardware failure. X config file looks ok (afaik) Xorg logs don't show any errors. can someone point me in a direction to start? Ixthusdan
Is it a wireless keyboard? I have seen reports of wireless mice/keyboards not working in kde 3.3 with Mandrake.

capnkirby
x.org plays a bit differently, in my config it is "Keyboard" and did not work when not capitalized, you can find more about it Here. Good Luck Capn
bardinjw
i think my XF86config is ok. it seems to be the same as the .old and my computer was fine under kde3.2 i think it's something missing in the interface between kde and X. Gumby
xorg uses /etc/X11/xorg.conf not /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (allthough the files could by symlinked). that said, if X worked before you upgraded to kde3.3 is should still work afterwards.
