cmus
I hope by posting this message I save someone the 3 hours it took me to figure out what was going wrong with my attempt to export a document from open office as a PDF file. I had a large (45 page) document with some intricate formatting and inserted graphic files. When I would go to export it as a PDF a couple of pages would look really wierd with text and images moved to strange locations around the page. I thought I had some strange formatting issues surrounding the images I had inserted and tried every different solution I could. The trick that finally made the export work smoothly was to remove a couple of fractions that were included in the text (e.g. I changed 1/4 to 0.5 and 3/4 to 75%). Stupid bug with the export program. Hope none of you have ad the same problem and given up before figuring it out. Aloha, Craig [moved from Software by spinynorman]

gmac
re pdf. Does OO allow you to edit the pdf file or is it simply youcan export a document as a pdf file once you've created it? I wasn't too impressed with OO when I tried it initially but looking at soem of these posts i mighht have a second look.
