For those using this thread as a guide, you need to restart grkellm after installing the pluggins with urpmi.

 

It didn't feel natural to me but you first need to "place" the plugin into the stack, then you need to go back to the grkellm configuration to where you can now select the plugin to configure it.

To configure it go to http://www.nws.noaa.gov/tg/siteloc.shtml to get the station ID of the weather station closets to you and enter it in the required field.

Pretty simple but no forecast, so I may still have to look into liquid-weather++ and superkaramba.

 

Also messing around with grkellm there is a setting so that it doesn't appear in the taskbar and another one to make it not appear in the pager: this strenghens the illusion that's it's built in the background (by using the "invisible" theme), or simply frees a spot in the taskbar.
