For print jobs management, I use gtklp (equivalent of lpr) and gtklpq (equivalent of lpq). Both are graphical GTK applications like Kups.

Gtklpq always worked fine for me, and it asks root's password when needed.

my printer is a canon S520 which has to work with cups and a special private driver from turboprint.de

while installing in root I asked a printer test which failed now I want to delete it

the deletion is refused cause i am no more in root

thanks

Also in a browser, type "localhost:631", enter your root password when prompted for user permissions, and navigate to the manage printers section. You will be able to clear out all operations.
