Guest snigel1
hello! i just installed mandrake 10 to hopefully get my lifeview fly-tv card working... the installation program found the tv card and i selected the closest drivers i could find,, "lifeview fly-tv 2000"... when i start tv-time it says no signal and that /dev/video0 cant be opened. lspci gets this; 02:08.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7130 Video Broadcast Decoder (rev 01) what should i do? LinuxMWB
I realize this is zero help.. However researching that device i found that WinDOS has boggles with it also... I've a Happauge PCI card that's about 6 years old, and it works flawless with all distros I've tried so far.. I am sure you could get one cheap, since it was not a high dollar card when new.. devries
Probably the driver you have choosen doesn't work. What's your 'lsmod' output? Best thing to do is to look on your tv card what chip it's using (or look on the box it came in :) ) and then google for a driver (called module in Linux). If Mandrake doesn't come with a driver you have to build one yourself. Good luck.
