World of Warcraft online petition

I think that it does help, because you're saying "I won't play this game, but I think that games should be ported for Linux. I use Linux."

And that's all we want ;)

I agree and encourage others to do the same - my only regret is that I didn't say that but said that I thought I'd play it even though I'm pretty sure I won't...

I certainly don't regret it. If I can afford it when it comes out, I'll eat my own words and buy it.

Besides, I got this email with this really interesting link in my mailbox:

http://www.blizzplanet.com/modules.php?nam...showpage&pid=85

Some background reading about games, sharing, piracy and culture:

***The scratchware manifesto***

www.the-underdogs.org/scratch.php

(a must-read if you care about games)

***Free Culture***

http://www.ibiblio.org/ebooks/Lessig/Free_...e%20Culture.htm

(I'm busy reading it recently. Very interesting).

The problem with WOW is the whole subscription thing. I'd probably be willing to pay $100 for the game and a lifetime subscription, but I personally do not support subscription based gaming on pricipal so I'm probably unlikely to buy WOW. It's a real shame since it looks like a great game that I'd love to play, it's just a shame it's subscription based.

I'm all for as many native linux game ports as possible though so I'll probably sign the petition later anyways.
