jbarry
I am trying to set up an ftp server. I have proftpd installed and I can access it locally from my machine. However, I don't understand how to set up the server for outside users. I have enabled port forwarding for port 21 on my internal ip. Someone please help. The router is a dell truemobile2300. Thanks. DragonMage
You must open port 21 in your router and forward it into the local IP address of your local ftp server. I think the router's configuration software should allow you to do this.
Gowator
basically the router should do all this and it should be transparent for the email server... unless you want to use a different port ...than 21 then you can NAT onthe router and change port but unless this is done the router should say internal address, external address and 21 twice .... or similar you just wanna tell it to forward port 21 to port 21 but oin the internal IP....
