  1. I have a notebook with the ATI mobility radeon 9000 graphics card. However, I downloaded the iso's of Mandrake 10.0 so I got the warning in the install of "may not work with ati drivers". Is there a way I can still get the drivers? I have looked at sagernotebook.com which has the windows drivers for my machine but I can't find the linux ones. Thanks
  2. I am trying to set up an ftp server. I have proftpd installed and I can access it locally from my machine. However, I don't understand how to set up the server for outside users. I have enabled port forwarding for port 21 on my internal ip. Someone please help. The router is a dell truemobile2300. Thanks.
  3. Ok, got the battery meter installed. Thanks

    Hyperthreading

I am running the smp kernel on a 3.06GhZ HT machine. Hyperthreading is enable in the BIOS but how do I make sure it is working here in Mandrake 10.0? THanks
  5. I have a Sager 5670 notebook that I have Mandrake 10 official on. Everything is working well and people here have helped me get it working better. However, I don't know how to get a battery meter. I looked at the other post and I have the acpi stuff installed but I don't know how to get the meter to show up. Any ideas?
  6. Ok I got it all working with the help of http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=9...t=mouse+buttons http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?sho...hl=xmodmap&st=0 Looks like there was a good post here in mandrake users, I should brush up on my search keywords
  7. I'll try the "6 7" and see what happens. I do have one question and I know typing can come off differently than speech so I will say that this is not intended to be offensive if it comes off that way. Maybe it is just me and my old windows ways, but why if there is a driver would I not want to use that? It seems like that way I am not doing a workaround, or modifying something else. Is it hard to add drivers to the kernel? It just seems like it would be easier in the long run, if the drivers were used and it would be less hassle to use something designed for the product. Edit - with "6 7" the mouse is working again and the scroll works fine. I don't know if the buttons work because I am not sure where to configure them
  8. Ok, I changed the values and now the mouse doesn't work at all. Other info that might be helpful. I am running the mouse through USB and I am on a laptop with the touchpad configured. Gonna change the values back and reboot. Edit - after reboot mouse is still not functional.
  9. Here's the part of XF86Config-4 Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Logitech MX310" Driver "mouse" Option "CorePointer" Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2" Option "Device" "/dev/usbmouse" Option "Buttons" "7" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection That's how it has been, no scroll working still, which is why I was interested in the drivers
  10. As for things that don't work: The scroll The side buttons The "application" button I would like the scroll to work obviously, and it would be nice to have the side buttons customizable like they are in windows. When I am running windows I am able to set a button up as back for web surfing and such.
  11. I've got about a week of 10.0 official under my belt and most things are going ok, but I would like my mouse to work better. I found what appears to be Linux drivers for it, but I don't know how to go about installing them. Driver here http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/ker...405.0/1124.html Like I said I am running MD10.0 and in KDE. Thanks.
