schussat
I have security on my installation of mdk 10.0 set to "higher" and am running sshd. This seems to translate to the inability for non-root users to do things like run top or view processes. As a result, as a regular user I can't even kill my own errant processes -- I have to su to do it. Is there any way to fine tune these settings a bit more? I tried setting the user to the adm group, which /proc belongs to, but this didn't do any good. Any suggestions? Thanks- -Alan

kilimanjaro
This may be a stupid quiestion, but I am going to ask it anyways. I am running my security at higher, how do I shut down my system? All I can do is log off.
Michel
Type poweroff as root. I have searched a time to also be able to shutdown as a normal user in that setting. It can be done by adding the user to the sudo-list for poweroff I believe, but I haven't found it for the graphical logout .... if you know how, please tell write it down here ... streeter
You can also override individual settings - have a look here:http://www.mandrakesecure.net/en/docs/msec.php Chris
idud
Setting sudo (/etc/sudoers) will be a very good alternative. Edited July 15, 2004 by idud
