USB mouse disappears on reboot [solved]

I don't recall which kernel killed this, but I never had this problem before. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and I'm using a USB mouse instead of the touchpad. Each reboot I have to run mousedrake and set the mouse back to Microsoft Explorer. When I do this, however, it gives me this error in the console I am running it from:

FATAL: Module mousedev not found.

FATAL: Module mousedev not found.

and defaults back to "Universal -> Any PS/2 & USB mice". The mouse, however, works until I reboot. Any thoughts?

        Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.X.Org

to make sure that you have the latest version.

Module Loader present

I can restart X after enabling the mouse with no problems, but as soon as I reboot, I have to do it all again.

Didn't work. Still got the "FATAL: module mousedev not found". After trial and error (looking at lsmod before and after running mousedrake), I discovered that I needed to add ohci-hcd to /etc/modprobe.preload. Before I did this, I had already added usbmouse there, so I'm not sure if I need both there, but I know that I need ohci-hcd there, because it won't work with usbmouse and not ohci-hcd.
