Guest dent
I have installed Mandrake Linux 10.0. I am using a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0A and it is connected to my usb port. During the installation my mouse did not work. I did not think it was a problem and could be solved once I finished the installation. When I logged in Mandrake it was still not working. I changed the driver but it had no effect. When I changed my mouse with a PS/2 mouse, it worked but now it jumps around very erratically. The same thing happens when I use an USB to PS/2 adapter and connect my intellimouse to PS/2. I need your help. Thanks.
Leo
Probably a silly question, but is the mouse ball and rollers clean? if you are running xfree86 it may be worth checking the config file to make sure you have the correct settings. Guest dent
One of my mouses is optical and the other one is clean enough. Both of them works without any problem. How should I check the settings?
durvish
check your Xconfig file and edit for your mouse.
Leo
How should I check the settings? I think it is /etc/XF86Config or /etc/XF86Config-4 depending on the version you are running. There will be a section for Mouse which details the type of mouse you are using and a few other options. Sorry to be so vague but I am on Win2K at the moment. If you look at the man pages for XF86Config ($man XF86Config) or Xfree86 it should give you a better description.
