mysticpain
Hello, I have a question. I just installed Mandrake 10 to act as a kiosk at the college I attend. I installed firefox 0.8 to act as out browser for the web browser for student registration. It installed fine and what not... But now it seems to not want to launch. Any suggestions? Also, how can I create a quick launch icon on the desktop for it? BTW when I open the folder it is in and double click it.. I get a select user profile screen and it won't let me start it.. no matter what I try. I am a newbie and more familiar with (cough..) Windows so please bear with me. Thank you. william
Are you using Gnome or KDE, Have you installed a rpm or tar file? If only one profile is set for firefox, it not allowable to have 2 instances opened at the same time for the same profile, that's why you are getting the user profile screen. crock
While I do like the Firefox concept, I'm not quite sure I'd use it on a type of kiosk. If I were in your shoes, I'd certainly give Mozilla another look.

With gnome right click the desktop and choose create laucher .. then write firefox in command text box... gud luck
liquidzoo
With 0.8, I think it's still .phoenix in your /home/user folder. Look in there in the default/something folder for a file called lock If it's there, delete it and you will be just fine.
