Devryn
O.K. I got linuxant working...Sorta. Linux recognizes the card but will not connect to the router. If I do iwlist scanning it sees the router and it's MAC address. What's up with this thing? The config file. # Please read /usr/share/doc/initscripts-*/sysconfig.txt# for the documentation of these parameters. Gowator
I dunno, mine just worked (although its the 54Mbit/s model) It just got the interface then I set the essid etc. and that was it ??? I presume you cant see the router ???
Devryn
iwlist scanning sees the router and it's MAC address and everything. I just don't get it.
Gowator
OK, what don't you get ??? I used mine in knoppix and I just added the driver and did netcardconfig It found the eth2 device and identified it as wireless and started the knoppix wlancardconfig Im not sure how you'd do this under Mandy.... If its pre- 9.2 then you can use linuxconf to make a device and assign its parameters. If its 9.2 or 10.0 and the wizard doesn't find it then i guess you will have to do it by hand. Andrewski
Caps in the MAC address? I know that I had this problem way back when I installed my WLAN card and solved it by switching to a static IP address. I don't have to do that now, but that was my problem before. Devryn
Actually using Fedora. Like I said, the card works, sorta. If I do iwlist scanning it sees the router. When I ifdown eth0 then ifup eth0 it fails to get an IP for some reason.
Andrewski
devryn, This was exactly the problem I was getting; have you tried changing your configuration to a static IP?
Devryn
What do I need to change? The line that says IPADDR= ? If so do I change it to the routers IP or one that the router would assign?
