obscure_
Is there a kernel 2.6.5 kernel mandrake rpm yet (for 10 CE)? And where can I download? If there isn't a proper 2.6.5 mandrake rpm what's the latest version? Thanks
liquidzoo
Yes and no The latest "MandrakeLinux Official Version" is kernel-2.6.3.7mdk However, there is a kernel-tmb-2.6.5 kernel rpm available from cooker.
obscure_
Thanks, I don't suppose you've got a mirror for that official version have you? Has the mirror got any other updates for 10 CE seen as my mandrake update still isn't working?
aRTee
There was a message on pclo about the phoenix repository, they have a 2.6.5 kernel. Just hop on over to pclinuxonline.com
chris:b
There is a kernel 2.6.5 for Mandrake 10.0 CE , here: ftp://ftp.pcds.ch/pub/people/rapsys/ - it's not an official kernel - it might work - or not ;-) - I am using this phoenix-kernel on MDK 10. CE (with all fixes, newer versions installed, but still CE) on a test installation. I had no problems so far. - if I remember well I've seen a person complaining that a phoenix kernel messed up a system completely ;-) Good luck! (would like to hear your result after installing, and if this kernel is a bit 'obscure' ...)
thac
I would really recomend Thomas Backlunds tmb kernels he has been building the tmb kernels for contrib quite along time and his kernels are stable. Get it at cooker or at his site at. http://www.netikka.net/tmb/Cooker/ /Torbjörn Turpeinen (Thac)
sitor
What does the 2.6.5 kernel offer more then the kernel that is installed by default by 10.0 CE? Does it make sense to install the newest kernel? Ciao, Sitor
