Mang Posted February 24, 2004 Report Share Posted February 24, 2004 Hi, i would like to get this card for a new compooter that i am building, what i would like to know is is there any brands that i should watch out for in regards to compatability or are they all OK? sorry if it is a dumb ass question, but better to be safe than sorry right? I'd stick with nvidia as opposed to the newer ati cards. Nvidia has excellent linux support whereas ati is likely to give you more problems under linux. DragonMage Posted February 24, 2004 Report Share Posted February 24, 2004 The difference is usually the quality of the board used, the memory, the cooling process, the manufacture, etc. Usually they follow the NVidia's own reference board pretty closely, maybe just putting better memory or heatsink to increase the chance of overclocking. Personally, I find that any board will do, as long as the manufacturer has good reputation of quality. So no, there usually won't be any incompatibility problems.
