Steve Scrimpshire
"...Linux is really a Unix platform that has been a mainstay of large servers for decades..." How mislead is this guy?
Darkelve
The real strength of Linux/FLOSS is that it can play nicely together in the COMMERCIAL environment, as well as in the 'FREE' and more altruistic environments. The GPL and similar licences ensure that both fronts can advance. It's a bit like saying 'This car can go 150 miles/hour and driving this fast is dangerous, so this car is dangerous'. Well, newsflash, you don't HAVE to drive at max speed! Imho one of the most important 'accellerators' in Linux/Floss - especially in the long run- is the interaction between different fields. Something which is not really possible with any other Operating System.
