thank you! my bad not seeing the FAQ before asking :wall:

I did everything on that faq.

/sur/local/mozilla/plugins

[root@192 plugins]# ls
flashplayer.xpt*  libflashplayer.so*     libnullplugin.so*
java2/            libjavaplugin_oji.so@

mozilla can't see that ******* plugin! :afro:

try symlinking them to the main mozilla plugin directory. java is sometimes very picky and must be in the main browser plugin directory.

note you may have to quit and relaunch moz to be able to actauily use the plugin. (same with flash plugins, mplayer plugins, etc) you should NOT have to reboot.

I already did that!!!!!!!!!

Now, I don't know what happened: Mozilla do not start:

$ mozilla
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?

<!--QuoteEBegin-->$ mozilla<!--QuoteEBegin-->INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?<!--QuoteEBegin-->

when I got the error it meant I had a java compiled w/ a diff version of gcc than the moz I was trying to run. They must be compiled w /the same gcc.

what did you mean?

most distributions have a set standard for where a rpm will install the various files. for example with arch linux mozilla installs to /opt/mozilla.

with mozilla and some other apps they will create a users diredctory in /home/<username> and with moz there is usually a plugin directory in there an some plugins work when put in there. but looking at your path to moz now it looks like you did not install a moz rpm?

all i know is that my java plugins do not work unless:

1. they come from a gcc3 compiled java release

2. they are symlinked to the root (main) mozilla plugin directory

  • 5 weeks later...

I also followed this link

http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=4548

Same here no luck.

I can see in my in /usr/local/MozillaFirebird/plugins/:

flashplayer.xpt

libflashplayer.so

libjavaplugin_oji.so

libnullplugin.so

but when I go to a page with java, Firebird tells me I need to install plugin.

Sorry to interrupt in this thread like this. I don't need you to answer me but the originator of this thread, I am just sharing my experiences with Mandrake and suggestions by this forum.

By the way I did follow suggestions about installing flashplayer and this one worked alright.
