Creative SB16pci/xmms

I have a Creative sb16 pci (got it from walmart... dont ask) works fine, but in mms it tends to skip a lot. This is probably a problem with xmms, but I did notice that the card is installed as an ensoniq card (which is technically a 'creative' card...) Just wondering if this is normal, or if there's another driver I can use that may perform better? Thanks - Matt

I have the same card though I do not use it at this time in ML but I do in gentoo. Post at the link didn't work? Are you using the alsa driver or oss? Post your /etc/modules.conf and the output of lspci -vv in a terminal.

Also, one post is enough...you could have replied in your first thread.

Soundblaster 16 PCI is an ensoniq card. Creative Labs bought Ensoniq ages ago in order to acquire its PCI soundcard technology (at the time all Creative cards are ISA cards). Creative rebranded ensoniq cards into current SB PCI cards. So the driver being ensoniq is normal.
