Sunsela
Hi, While browsing through my home directory I notice in /.thumbnails/normal directory there are approximately 3500 png files totaling 13MB. Where did these come from and is it safe to delete them? Are there any other directories that accumulate files endlessly that need to be emptied periodically? TIA Sunsela

mystified
Well I checked mine and I have about the same amount. By looking at it, it looks like what my browser is caching. Can't be sure tho.

Why? I haven't a clue other than the obvious (speed). I clear mine several times a week.

Hi, Just wanted to pass on some additional information that I've come across. These were created by browsing with konqueror in Icon View. Each image you see in this view mode makes a thumbnail. Use konqueror in Detailed list View mode to avoid caching them. Sunsela
Vdubjunkie
These were created by browsing with konqueror in Icon View. Each image you see in this view mode makes a thumbnail. I guess this is why the directory didn't even exist on my machines.
liquidzoo
Some file managers I've seen create the .xvpics folder instead (I think)
