I'm trying to update ATI Drivers from 8.20.8 to 8.21.7. I removed 8.20.8 ok, but the problem is installing the new ones:

rpm -qa |grep kernel gives me :

I'm running Mandriva 2006 powerpack x86_64, any help is greatly apprieciated.

I would say its a ram problem try reinserting it (if it was fine before) then run memtest from a bootable floppy, I had all sorts of weird errors because of incorrectly inserted ram(explorer crashing and a messagebox coming up saying just "error")

Thanks that sorted the X configure error but now I get this :
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
as you can guess ima n00b to linux

I've tryed to install the libxorg-x11-devel but get this message :
It appears that i also need these dependencies.
zlib-devel is needed by libfreetype6-devel-2.1.9-2mdk

Error: Sound Device busy

Ok this is pretty annoying. I'm trying to run xmms/<random application that requires sound> and I keep getting:
Error: Sound Device busy.
Can only one program access the sound device at a time? If so is there a way around this?
Thanks
