    Firefox-2.0rc3

    Firefox-2 with flashplayer installed crashes in Mandriva 2007 (and it works fine in Mandriva 2006 ). [lando@localhost firefox]$ ./firefox --sync The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 120 error_code 8 request_code 146 minor_code 3) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)   2. The remove / add has worked in MCC ! (Though the user entry displayed in MCC was correct I got access denied when I logged in ) . Many thanks to all of you ( I hope this expression be correct :..).
  3. yes, userdel -r usrname ....delete it. the usrname is already missing in these files....
  4. I had problems with my user name so I've deleted the user login account using the command "userdel -r myname"... Then I've tried the "adduser myname" (so I'll have a cleaner user situation)...and I get "the user already exist...." I've read that after a userdel I've to delete this user name in some hidden places...Is there a guide to search these places ? Thanks a lot.

    Yes,......but why lilo documentations in linux environment show many Windows partitions enties ? ( only Partition Magic can help ?)

    DriveImage XML works fine if I copy from C drive to the first partition of a second H.D. then I boot from this clone. If I copy to another primary partition of the same H.D.and change boot.ini to point to partition 2 (for example) and add its entry to lilo bootloader....I can boot it but with some problems....I think in Windows the C address letter is in many places...registry entries...page files (in fact still it point to the page of WindowsXP cloned) There is this possibility to have two Windows using lilo ?
  8. coverup suggestion seems has worked fine ! I'ven't apm then I should do modprobe apm....but I'm not too expert and I wouldn't do something that I could not control... Thanks for your helps.

    I cannot find "sysprep". Anyway the device address have to be C ,mandatory , where the system is installed on ? Sorry , I'm talking of DriveImage XML .....not of DriveImage Power Quest .

    Someone has used DriveImage (Disk to Disk copy) to create a windows copy, then set both windows and Linux on Lilo ? I get "NTLDR missing" when I start the partition created by DriveImage.....

    Adsl connection

    It's as you belived in ghost. Last week my H.D. is dead and contained my old WinMe that went to Internet trough USB connection (but with another modem with USB interface....). That H.D. doesn't exist any more.The USB attachement is unplugged. Tha new H.D. contain WinXP that works fine with the PC ethernet interface plugged to a simple modem with ethernet interface .Of course when I boot Mandriva this connection doesn't work. Dont' say that motherboard builds a Lan with a ghost. I've copied /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ from MDK live.... but it's not enough. What can I copy now ? Thanks. PS-Sorry for my English....

    Adsl connection

    Though Mandriva live works fine with Adsl configuration .............................. I've tried a Lan configuration ......without results. Maybe because I know very little about Lan - I've a Realtek|RTL-8139 interface (eth0) connected to a simple modem...not a router! I'm not in a Lan ! I've tried this attempt because I've nothing to do! in desperation ! Below ifconfig after a Lan configuration that ended with congratulations !!!!!!!!!..but that doesn't work. Then at the end of lan configuration I was asked to start X environment because of the changed hostname !?!? But I 've typed "localhost" as hostname........... Have I to reinstall the system the third time ?     Something is changed...I don't know why.... It says "connected" but the browser cannot get access to internet...cannot resolve addresses... In Control Center Internet configuration I check only on (...and it has always worked...)   15. With the same Adsl ethernet line connection ,same PC , ...Mandriva live 2006 can do the interrnet connection and Mandriva 2006 official not. I've configured through Control Center ... I'ved also tried using "adsl.-setup" procedure but still when I start the line with "adsl-start" i get Time-Out.... What can I do ?

    Thanks to everybody. What I want ? I''ll have to change the second H.D....and my Windows will have to work during the time I'm waiting its change.(some days). then windows should boot with lilo installed in MBR.........so that I can select it at boot. (if I get fine lilo can stay installed iin MBR and works also with windows alone...) With new H.D. I'll reinstall Mandriva..... OK ? Thanks

    I've English lenguage problems..... The question is .....if I loose all of the linux partitions (3) that are in the lilo boot menu with Windows (1) partition ,,,,, Windows will continue to boot using lilo menu ? or have I to do the cammand "fdisk /mbr" to delete lilo ....that could not work having 4 partition installed ? PS- ...your English is better then mine ?
  19. I've two H.D. The first one with a Wndows partition is OK. The second one with with a Windows partition (for data only) and 3 linux partitions. Lilo show at boot 4 partitions . Now the second H.D. is out for all of the linux. Still at boot I can choose in the lilo menu to run Windows ! Partition table is on the first H.D....then I shouldn't loose Windows also reformatting the second H.D ,..isn'it ? Or have I to execute "fdisk /mbr" ...though I've read that it couldn't work if there are more then 4 partition involved....... Many thanks
  20. For Linux,...the failing linux version ... For Windows,its OK version. Appletviewer fails,.....then the browser has no faults .... The cross-platform version could run fine with linux ? Thanks. PS- JMStudio works fine......... Could be jmf.jar wrong packed ?
  21. Still it appears as a linux problem ! Using Appletviewer I can see that the class javax/media/ControllerListener cannot be found ! and the CLASSPATH is right !!! [lando@localhost ~]$ echo $CLASSPATH /home/lando/JMF-2.1.1e/lib/jmf.jar:. The archive file jmf.jar contains also the class javax/media/ControllerListener !
  22. The IMF API installation fails the diagnostic test http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jm...iagnostics.html but TVApplet.java sample is compiled OK and these .class files are produced. TVApplet$1.class TVApplet.class TVApplet$CPanel.class TVApplet.html Now I've written the applet .html below and Firefox cannot open it. <applet code=TVApplet width=587 height=510> <param name=file value="calcioMO.avi"> </applet> Firefox pass all of the tests in http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp Of course JMF works fine in Windows..... Is there someone with java environment that can try to install it ? http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/ Many thanks.
