    No Doom III in 2003

TTimo is to id Software what icculus is to everyone else.

    Dink Smallwood

The source has been released, now we wait for someone who knows how to port, to port it. This game is freeware, so basically, it'll be a free Linux game once the port is done. http://dink.sf.net/ if you know how to code and want to help.

    What about Racing?

LGP is porting Ballistic right now, which is a racing game, albeit not with cars. There are mods for UT2003 and Q3A that allow you to drive cars, but the quality may or may not be what you want. I agree though, we need more car games for Linux.
  4. You are using Mesa, which is software rendering... If you have an NVidia card, follow the tutorial at my website (link in signature). If you have an ATI card, well, may God have mercy on you...
  5. Well, Mandrakeusers.org is in NZ, last I heard. I would assume that if it were an official server, it'd be in NZ also.
  6. We have a couple of Neverwinter Nights posters to give away, so we figured it would be the perfect opportunity to get some community involvement going with this site. So, here is our first competition! Create a wallpaper for the Neverwinter Nights Linux Users Guild. The design is totally up to you, but it must represent the Linux Users Guild in some manner. 7. LGP is doing what Loki did, but they are doing it better. How? They are porting titles they can afford, titles that will stand a chance to make a profit on Linux (which isn't easy to do), and by not mass-producing stock for a non-existant market. If they continue as they are, they should be able to, over the course of time, bring many good games to our platform. The difference between Loki and LGP is big, yet at the same time it is small. Embrace the future of Linux gaming. Support LGP.
  8. Buying would be a much better idea so that we see an increase in linux support from game companies. The linux reputation sure doesn't need to get scarier than it already is for proprietary coding companies!! We need to prove that we are a viable market, not a guaranteed pirate underworld. Yeah, I totally agree. Take a look at the producer of Tribes from Sierra had to say:
  9. Okay, well, it's working fine for me so far, but I didn't patch and install my NVidia drivers yet, so I'm using the (crappy) nv driver. Majesty still works, so I imagine most of the games out there won't be broken, and my browser and email work just fine, and I'm listening to Zao with XMMS, so it's all good so far in. Yay and all that. EDIT: Okay, I put the NVidia drivers in using the patch from minion.de. Seems to be working just fine.
  10. My tutorials have nothing to do with Wine, but whatever man.
  11. Look, if you're going to ask for stuff, when you get it, why would you refuse it? That's just... Bah, forget it. You don't make sense.
  12. The images aren't showing up in my tutorials. They will have to be fixed by hand. I suppose I will have to do that, and post a fixed tarball.
  13. I was giving you links, as you asked. Take the content and use it... You wanted tutorials? Why not use mine too? Are they not good enough for you?

Hope is a recipe for letdown. Well, not all the time, but I'm nearly 100% certain in this case. Madhattr doesn't seem to be saying, one way or the other, if they are going to continue porting... seems kinda strange to me.

    Old skool games?

That black mage in your avatar sorta reminds me of Orko.
  16. Yeah! OR, you could stop being a cheap warez kiddie, and buy the damned games from TuxGames or some other site that sells them, or even get them cheap from eBay.
  17. Actually, /usr/local/bin is usually used for non-standard symlinks.
  18. I had a few tutorials for games on my old Mandrake eXPerience site. Link in sig.
  19. ? I did change it. It now has the link to the tribute pic and to the new URL. --- I'm not reviving the site, just finding (hopefully) a permanent, functional, home. Ideally, by-a.com was dream hosting, until it went down. I had everything I wanted - ftp, ssh, working php... icculus.org was always a temporary thing, as I was anticipating by-a.com to come back up any day now, but it never did. mdkxp.free.fr has very screwed up php (go look for yourself), probably because of how I coded my site. The new URL isn't ideal, but the link is there, the resource is there, and MDKXP can live on, just like LokiGames.com does even today.
  20. Okay, this is the last time I'm trying free hosting: http://pgshopping.com/mdkxp/ That's the new URL, so go there for a fully-functioning site. If it ever goes down, I've had it. :) I'm still not updating it, but the site is functional. Enjoy.

    ut help!

Did you use the GOTY installer? or did you use the normal installer?
  22. it's not really all that hard ;-) what do you use as your controller? keyboard? i need to hunt down a nice joystick that works with linux....any suggestions? If you want a gamepad, I recommend the Interact Hammerhead FX (modprobe interact), or the Interact AxisPad (if they work in Linux, and they should, as the author of interact.o said they should). If you want and actual JOYSTICK, then I don't know. I hate them.

    ut help!

The LGFAQ is wrong about this issue. Plain and simple. I pointed it out to the maintainer, but he ignored me. I have Totally Unreal, and both Unreal Gold and UT work just fine from that bundle pack.
