  5. The command "xboard -fcp <engine_name>" does not work. when i type it, i got this message : "syntax error near unexpected token `newline' " Another thing, in gnu chess, i don't know how to do caslling. Is there a specific setting you have to parameter in order to enable it ?
  6. I have installed Gnome chess, but i do not know how to use it. I would like to play aginst the computer but i do not have any idea on how to do it.
  7. Well i would like to have toe option anyway. Is it possible to get it back ? I used this sessions only in very exceptional cases, but i still need it. Is there a package i need to reinstall in order to access to it.
  8. i have a problem i tried to uninstall some packages and i guess i must have uninstalled some wrong rpms since that now, when i boot, i can only log into a normal user. i cannot login into root since i don't have the option anymore. funny thing is when i am in my normal user and i want to get into mandrake control center, i can enter the root password and it will allow me inside mandrake control center. any idea on how to restore the option to log to root session ?   10. I don't get it, what file do i have to copy onto directory ? i don't have a file and i do not know how to create one. I really do not have a clue. Is there not a step by step guide somewhere on how to configure those sort of things ?

  12. Is there something wrong with the Mandrake automated update, it keeps telling me that that my update applet is not configured right adnd when i try to get to the Mandrakeonline website (http://www.mandrakeonline.com) i can't display the website.

  14. Ok, i tried to do what you said but, somehow, it does not work. I am not sure i understand all of it. Could you tell me exactly, step by step what i have to enter as command Here is what i have now in interface eth1 KWIFI/MANAGER status of active connection : Connected to network : WLAN access point : 00:30:BD:63:94:7A (which is by the way the right MAC address of my access point) Local IP :192.168.2.13 frequency channel : 2462(11) Access point unknown here is again the information of my access point (that i am able to access from Windows XP) : AP NANE : SergeAP SSID : WLAN channel : 11 RTS THRESHOLD : 2346 IP ADDRESS : 192.168.2.13 SUBNET MASK : 255.255.255.0 DEFAULT GATEWAY : 192.168.2.1 dhcp client : Disabled So the question is, where do i get to enter the Access point Name (SergeAP) ? Somehow this variable is missing. what about this configuration interface below (you get it when you click confing in KWIFI/MANAGER), how does it work ?

  16. In rpm package manager, il have two version of kernel : kernel-2.6.8.1.10mdk kernel-2.6.8.1.12mdk can i uninstal safely this one : kernel-2.6.8.1.10mdk ?

  19. The other usb devices works, except for my bluetooth usb adapter. In both cases none are even visible.
  20. I just discovered KWIFI Manager and when i opened it, apparently if detect a signal from my wireless card. However i do not know how to configure it so that the wireless network would work> Any help would be appreciated. I have this card, by the way, on my computer
