  1. Hi, First of all, I have never been able to get GAIM working through a firewall (and I have been trying for a long while). I suggest having a look at this site: AMSN P9 It has a clone of MSN messenger there which is both easy to install and looks almost identical to the actual thing. It also has the standard MSGR connections dialog within the preferences menu. Hope this is of some help.
  2. Hi, To find out the answer to your question, I suggest you read the Indexing page on the apache site. I have included the URL below: Fancy Indexing It should tell you how to configure your conf file so that apache will automatically give you a list of files with icons to represent the types of files you have in your directory. Hope this is of some help.
  3. Hi, Use Samba-TNG for your samba role and your PDC role. You can view the docs and download from http://www.samba-tng.org/ There are also mailing lists available for help if you get stuck. I have had my PDC (Mandrake Samba-TNG) server up for around 3 months now, with no problems. Hope this is of some help. Nikon
  4. Hi, OK, first of all, you need to read the documentation at www.samba-tng.org. Then download the package and follow the documentation. Samba-TNG is a replacement for an NT PDC. It still only supports x86 architecture, but most systems out there are x86. :D Some useful links: Download site: http://download.samba-tng.org/tng/ Documentation site: http://www.samba-tng.org/docs.html At present, it does not support: WINS replication File locking File ACL support But apart from that, it is complete. Hope this is of some help Nikon
  5. Hi, You would need to use LinNeighbourhood. I don't know if this package is available to pre 9.2 users as I only have 9.2 after migrating from Redhat. LinNeighbourhood would be located under the networking menu on your menu bar (GNOME). If you don't have it, install it. It will allow you to view public shares from other machines (WIN32/LINUX). Hope that is of some help. Nikon
  6. Hi, To achieve this, you would need to install Mandrake Multi-Network Firewall suite. Have a look at the site www.mandrakesoft.com/products/mnf and read through the documentation. You would need to download the suite and then install it onto your firewall system. Hope this is of some use. Nikon
