Here's another one for you. I tried it at 3 different resolutions. http://home.satx.rr.com/mystified/zoom3.htm The img I used is in my /img called gulf.jpg if you're interested. Edit - I added text to it using anti-aliasing, it's not perfect but it looks better. Also at lower resolutions you have to scroll sideways for your link. I didn't set my image size and I didn't have to.

But don't get locked into thinking you have to use css for the background image. CSS is great but if you find a way to do it easier in html then use it. I don't see why you have to have a "fixed" position, top, left. I used a fixed polition cause I was trying to create a certain effect. You just need a background image. I'll play with it tomorrow both ways and see what I can come up with for you. And good on you for learning so much so fast! :P

I did do some research in css and found one page that listed for the background portion, width: 100%; Never tried it so it I don't know if it works. You're going to have to create an external style sheet and link to it on each page. If you want an example look at the source on my web page. HTH If not, just ignore me. :lol:

test mispell I baited it too and it didn't correct my spelling. Everybody knows misspell has two "s." :unsure:

Gowator, yes I did wind up completely redoing all the pages but it took me a little longer than two days. I made changes to layout and added an on-line form. The site owners are very pleased so it worked out just fine.

Win4Lin costs $90 http://www.netraverse.com/ I used it for running an old dos problem but because it requires a HASP it wouldn't work unfortunately. Other than that it was great. You can also download a trial version that only works for a limited amount of time before you spend the money on it.

Okay, I looked at the code before I read the last sentence. You're going to have a LOT of cleaning up to do since it was created with Front Page. There are just so many problems with the pages. Anyway, the quality of the background image isn't great to start with. For a picture like that I'd suggest a .jpg. It'll take longer to load but it'll look better. Second, they have both a background image and background color set for the entire page. Not sure they would do that but have you tried removing the bgcolor and just leaving the background image? I dunno. Probably not much help.

I've used this site http://www.pagetutor.com/ It's pretty easy to understand. If there's something in particular I usually google or check one of my books. I have an book called HTML A Beginner's Guide by Wendy Willard that was my first book and it's a good resource.
