  1. That is a bug being addressed in an update. I don't think the update is out yet.
  2. I have not experienced your problem with operapluginwrapper. You might post your problem on Opera's forum to see if anyone has a solution. http://my.opera.com/community/forums/forum.dml?id=3
  3. Anne, the Mandriva engineering director has just started a poll on forum.mandriva.com. Link: Default menu in KDE4 for 2009 Maybe you would like to express your opinion. :)
  4. Nice post. Thanks for the article. One question. Are you Groklaw, or just linking to (her, his, or their) article? In other words, are you the one that wrote to KDE?
  5. You might see if you can get any help on the following forum. http://www.evdoforums.com/
  6. See if the info in the following threads works for you. I believe you can enter any 4-digit number for the pin. http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=88903 http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=73267
  7. See this thread on the other Mandriva forum... Openoffice.org-kde problem with 2.4.1.5-2.3 update package
  8. I'd like to know who thought of that as well. It got me too, so don't feel bad.
  9. In Software Management did you set the leftmost button to "All"? The default setting is "Packages with GUI" (in 2008.1) which results in few packages being found - even with the search feature.
  10. I just read something a few minutes ago from AW that may solve this for you. http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?p=515496#515496 BTW, I was quite impressed with the openSUSE KDE Live CD. I did not install it, just ran it from the CD.
  11. John, thanks for the supportive comments. :-)
  12. You need this mirror, and I do not see it listed above. Notice plf in the URL. http://mirror.yandex.ru/mandriva/plf/2007....se/binary/i586/
  13. Works for me. I have Mandriva 2008.1 Powerpack. I am using the latest version of Opera 9.51. One applicable change I have made to Opera is adding the MIME type I mentioned above (when I had 9.50 installed). Your problem could very likely be Adobe Flash. I downloaded the latest Adobe Flash (version 9.0.124.0) from Adobe and installed that version. Make sure that you you have /usr/lib/flash-plugin in your plug in paths for Content. You might need to remove usr/lib/netscape/plugins from your plugin path (I read this may cause a problem in the Opera forums).
  14. I had a problem listening to Live365 Internet Radio with Opera 9.50 in Mandriva, but not in Windows. I found there was a missing MIME type that I had to add in the Linux version of Opera. I suspect you are having a similar problem. You could try the following which worked for my problem: In Opera, go to Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Downloads > Add > for MIME type enter audio/x-scpls, and for File extensions enter pls, then click on the radio button Open with other application. I chose /usr/bin/amarok as the application to open it with, but you could use mplayer, totem, or something else. If adding the above MIME type doesn't work, try to determine which file extension is trying to play and add the appropriate MIME type for that file extension.
  15. I would say so. You should just need to enter the User ID and password when you first attempt the connection. I am not familar with Pipex in particular. I am just making a general statement regarding ADSL.
  16. Sometimes I think resolvconf creates more issues than it resolves. Glad you got it sorted... :)
  17. I just checked and I don't have that directory either. My fonts are located in /usr/lib.
  18. IIRC, I reinstalled the fonts from the DVD. Use your DVD for the medium, search and make sure the following is installed: 1) libfreetype6 (might also need freetype and freetype-tools) 2) libcairo2 3) libxft2 Depending upon what you did, you may want some other font packages as well. EDIT: I just remembered you are using the command line. See the following: http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Tools/urpmi
  19. I more or less did the same thing once. See how I fixed it, and what I should have done in the following post. http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?p=428139#428139
  20. I can print footers using Opera 9.50. I suspect your printer driver is causing you problems.
  21. I know nothing about this particular thing in linux, but I did a little searching with Google. Maybe one of the following links will help. http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/17636.html http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-585933.html http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distri...-1.3.5.uci.info http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/answer...se_in_Slackware http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=46459
  22. Glad to hear you got it working Nic. :)
  23. Well, that is what I installed successfully. I'll try to recall how I did it. 1) First I Installed Wine 1.0. 2) Next I installed webcore-fonts-3.0-1.noarch.rpm from: http://avi.alkalay.net/software/webcore-fonts/ Download rpm, right-click on it and choose Open with Software Installer. 3) The next step I Double-clicked on setup.exe on the WT Lib CD. I did not change any setup options or paths. This installed two icons to the desktop. The one that looked like it should work was the wrong one. 4) Next I right-clicked on the config file and chose Properties. 5) On the General tab I typed: Watchtower Library 2007 - English for the name. 6) I clicked on the icon on the upper left and chose an icon that I thought was appropriate. 7) On the Application tab I don't think I changed anything, but here is what is there: 8) For Command: env WINEPREFIX="/home/<user>/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\Watchtower\Watchtower Library 2007\E\WTLibrary.exe" [substite <user> with your user directory] 9) For Work Path: /home/<user>/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Watchtower/MEPSCommon [substite <user> with your user directory] 10) Now double-click on this file and the Watchtower Library should start. 11) I moved the other desktop file Watchtower Library 2007 - English.lnk to my home user documents directory - although I believe you can delete it. Here is a site that helped me along some with this: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?...TestingId=26307 Hope this helps.
  24. hdlist contains all the description info for the packages. synthesis contains little if any package description information. See more about it in the following wiki. http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Tools/urpmi
