anon...on the cooker rpms for 4.3-1, do you have transparency by default? or did you have to adjust anything?
  2. also, if you are in KDE, you can right-click run command. then you can click options before you run it and there will be an option for run as a different user. I don't know about that scripting stuff though.
  3. if you were to open up a terminal, su to root, and then type in guarddog, you could see if any errors are being given.

yes, yes, I know, but go and try to actually track that rpm down on rpmfind.net. nonexistent. X is running, but no bells and whistles like in the cvs version.

  11. nevermind. i got the automake thing resolved with some good ol source code..
  12. I get this error when trying to make the makefile: *** YOU'RE USING automake (GNU automake) 1.4-p6. *** KDE requires automake 1.6 I tried to install the latest cooker version of automake and it will not let it happen. I tried to force the rpm...nothing. any ideas?
  13. My suggestion still stands. Install wondows first, then let mandrake install on the second hard drive. Mandrake won't fry the MBR like windows will. And then call me up and we'll go chill with nathan.
  14. no idea...but you can have a free bump to the top, 'cause i'd like to know too.
  15. not a screenshot, but here's the link to the download: http://ftp.belnet.be/linux/Mandrake-devel/....3-1mdk.src.rpm

TFT screens... :mystilol: I'll keep my CRT any day. When they make flat panels as crisp and sharp as my crt, I'll consider it.
  21. stuff in thier own directory and do this: rpm -Uvh *.rpm It'll install them in the order it needs to be done, and will tell you of any failed dependencies. Then you can grab those from www.rpmfind.net
  22. this'll have to wait. I have class in the AM. I'll hit this when I get to work at 11:00am tommorrow. report to follow.
