How can one set the access permissions of /dev/net/tun accross reboots? I've changed the "tun" entry in /etc/udev/rules.d/50-mdk.rules to read like this: KERNEL="tun", SYMLINK="net/%k", MODE="0666" But the permission is 0600 after reboot nevertheless. [moved from Software by spinynorman]

Hm, no, it hasn't helped. I have a local named, but it is running with -4. So it shouldn't issue IPV6 requests, should it?

When I try sending a mail message via the smarthost there are ipv6 name requests sent out which won't be answered. This results in a long delay when sending mail. When I hardcode the ip address of smarthost into /etc/hosts mail is send out much faster. Is there a means to restrict name resolution to ipv4 only without making entries in /etc/hosts?

I didn't realize that these pushbuttons "proceed to step 2" and "proceed to step 3" are realy pushbuttons. So after clicking them the urpmi.addmedia instructons appear in step 3.

If X is running you should be able to switch to X by pressing Alt-F7. If X is not running how can you switch to it? You must first start X. /etc/init.d/dm start.

Under IceWM some themes have their own background iamgae. If a theme doesn't have a background image the one with the blue stars is displayed. I have installed mozilla-firefox-1.0.2-3mdk so far. When I try to deinstall it via rpm -ev mozilla-firefox I get 'Failed dependencies' errors. It seems that some files are also needed by epiphany-1.4.8-8mdk. So should I leave the mozilla-firefox-1.0.2-3mdk and install the one from mozilla.org somewhere else?

My Mandriva installation comes with Firefox 1.02. What is the recommended way to upgrade Firefox? Should I drop the old Firefox package and install 1.06 from mozilla.org? Or is there a Mandriva Firefox rpm somewhere? [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
