    I agree with daniewicz, I don't believe that this is only a driver problem. The output you've posted looks ok. Would you please post (at least three lines) the output of
    glxgears

    Make sure you have the mesa and mesa-demos packages installed from the official Mandriva repos. Then please post the output of

    Hi,

    I have an old NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4400 graphic card that worked flawlessly on Mandriva 2009. After an update the situation changed a bit: I have now good 3D hardware acceleration but 2D graphics is slow. It takes about 2 seconds to show the icons on a desktop after minimizing a window; desktop selection rectangle doesn't work smooth anymore and window moving isn't smooth either.

     

    I use the following driver (installed by Mandriva):

    vendor: NVIDIA Corporation

    renderer: GeForce4 Ti 4400/AGP/SSE2

    version: 1.5.8 NVIDIA 96.43.11

     

    Any ideas?

    There is a big difference between using social networks and being generally dumb, you know. Everything you do you must do with your head. One doesn't have to post pictures of his house, his address and a number of bank account. Those who do stupid things in facebook - deserve it. Poor decision making.

     

    There is a certain group of people with whom i maintain a close relations and i have their telephone numbers. There are people i met or worked with for short periods of time. They are great guys and galls, yet we do not meet too often, some are even abroad. It is nice to hear from them from time to time. For that i use various social networks. Does it make we stupid too?

     

    Let's not even start with the whole "nothing to hide, nothing to fear" rubbish, that's the dumbest frase ever coined, anyone who believes it, deserves all the consequences he/she will get because of it.

    Watch it man, mind your attitude. Maybe i know where you live and i just might come and get you :ph34r:

    Also, there are many situations when you would not want people socializing with those they would not normally meet. Take note of Myspace's problems with sex offenders.

     

    That is the point, to keep in touch with people you do not speak that frequently, yet you have/had something in common, like old buddies, colleagues etc. You can also share photos with people you consider your friends. Anonymity is a matter of user choice, people who have nothing to conceal pick Fasebook or similar, other can make other choices.

    Geocities has been a graveyard for years. I remember hosting a site there back in the late 90's/early 2000's, they had the worst adverts of any of the free sites.

     

    Indeed, their hosting plans were the worst: too little space and a load of irritating adverts, that use near 25% of the screen and, no ftp, no php/asp/CGI, no database options for free.
