I have Linux installed, with a 98SE install slaved off the main HDD. But I cannot write to it, I checked the properties and and all the write box's were checked. Any suggestions?????? Rember please, I am a noob.....

Try making an autoexec.cfg in your quake2/baseq2 folder put: set gl_modulate "3.0" set intensity "2.0"

Every time....... And when I fire up my Quake 2 server, it runs for every switch, so it goes through 3 times.....heh It's a little annoying but I can live with it...... :D

Why is it when I fire something up with Wine, it goes through to 100% with the font metrics??????? Is it supposed to do this?????? Just curious is all.....

I use the machine for folding, and a Quake 2 server, and my web server. I would have liked to use Wine so I could use the Windows Sconfig30 server, and use the windows Folding client........

I have 1 HDD on my Linux box, I dont want to add a FAT32 partition. Can I use Wine without having a Windows partition?????? Please say yes..... :D

I didnt do it with Apache, I changed the directory and couldn't connect. So I add'd the dir to Samba, and changed permissions so I could read write to the default Apache dir. from my XPee machine..... My goal was, to be able to access the dir. and make changes from my XPee machine..........

Ok, I changed it, restarted the server, then I didnt have permission for /. I then restarted the computer, I figured I did something wrong, same thing then too. I changed it from /var/www/html to /home/ziggy/webs. Was that correct, or might there be more I have to change??????

I got it installed and working great, but I was wondering if I could change the default directory to something else??????? Or can I add the default Apache directory to Samba and be able to browse to it from the network??????

I just installed 9 on my main PC (AMD XP1700+) and I have a Logitec optical mouse with wheel. I selected Standard wheel mouse in MCC, and cant use the wheel, I did the search thang here and didn't find anything ( I suck a searches...:) ) Any suggestions?????

ok, I got a Linksys router, I use it for DHCP for the IP's on my network. If my Linux machine is on for more then a day, it drops out of the DHCP clients table on the router. I dont know if it changes it's IP number, I don't know how to check it.... I am using EMIII to monitor the Folding on it, when this happins I have to shut EMIII down, connect to it with explorer, then it see's it again........ Any ideas what is causing this???????

Yellow dog linux is for Mac's..... I checked into it for an old Power book, but mine is too old.... :?

Ok, got it working, I can now monitor Folding and can browse from my XPee rig........... Now I am working on getting my network printer on there......

I installed Mandrake 9, I selected Samba when installing, where and how do I configure it???????? I just need to connect to it with my main XPee machine....... I use the machine to run Folding@home and I would like to be able to monitor it with EMIII. I selected Linux to run on there cause I ran it before on my main PC, Mandrake 8.1, but I must say, I might be using it on my main PC, I really like the feel of 9, it feels more polished, I really like it...............
