When I installed, I had to do the no apic kernel at inital boot. because otherwise it would just sit there at finding the HDD controller. I have a Maxtor SATA HDD. But I went ahead and tryed it, and, it shows the same as lm_sensors cept for video card, theres a heading called therm, that sits at 40, never moving. Could the no-apic kernel, I specified on inital boot from DVD be causing the problems????

LM_Sensors doesnt detect the sensors for the CPU or system, just video card. I have a EVGA NF41-SLi motherboard with a EVGA 7800 GT running a AMD 64 +3700 San Diego core CPU, with Mandriva 2006. I desperatly want to start clocking this thing, but, I have to way to monitor temps. (plus I run Folding@Home, and the thjing can get a bit warm, even at default speeds) Any help will be greatly appreciated.......

I wish I could help more, only thing I can think of is something thats need'd isnt installed..... Is your kernel source installed, it needs that, other then that, I am not sure where to go from there.... :unsure:

Heres what I did. Got these drivers http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Download/sp...20060101.tar.gz extracted them, then opened a console in that folder (theres directions in an install file also) make clean make su to root make install Fired up gqcam and there it was (I may have modeprobe spca5xx, I cant remember right off)

Speaking of AV, I am using Thunderbird for e-mail, how might I get Klam intagrated with Thunderbird???? Searched there site, and found nothing, also the wiki, I hate wiki's.....

I have Xpee on a small partition on the SATA drive. I also have 2k on the IDE drive. Here my entire lilo.conf When I installed Mandriva, I had the IDE HDD just there for storage, I had XPee on the SATA, then installed Linux on the SATA. It listed the IDE as Windows, even though there was no install on it. Xpee was listed as Windows 1, so I would select that and get to XPee. Now, when I want to get to 2k, which is on the IDE HDD I just select it to boot off that HDD in the BIOS. Ok, moved it fine, but uh, when I select XPee, I get a flashing dash and thats it. ANy ideas..... ( I need to get back to it at least one more time)

I can do this in MCC correct?????? Under BOOT, then leave BOOT LOADE TO USE alone, and change boot device from /dev/hda to /dev/sda correct???? IF I do this AFTER I reinstall XPee or 2k, will it still load it up????? Then I can unplug the SATA drive, and put XPee or 2k on the IDE drive. and save all 200 wonderful gigs for Linux......

Well, XPee and Mandrake are on the 200gig SATA drive. I have a crusty old install of XPee on a 10gig partition on the SATA drive. I wanted to reinstall XPee or 2K so to have a fresh install so I can run benchies. ANywase, ya, LILO is on the 20gig HDD, thats just used for storage. Right now bios is set to boot of the 20gig (IDE 1). If I set it to boot from SATA I get a bunch of numbers and crap start to scroll.....heh So, I will give it a try, it's not like I will loose anything, just reinstall some apps if I do manage to fubar it. Just got to remember, dont format my /home partition.......

Ok, here goes, I hope this is in the right spot.......... Ok, I have a 200gig SATA HDD, and a 20gig IDE HDD. When I installed Mandriva, I accidently put LILO on the 20gig IDE HDD. Now, I want to reinstall XPee or 2k on the little partition I had for XPee, on the SATA HDD. Now, the SATA doen not have a MBR, when I set bios to boot from SATA, nada, just some text ont he screen with no ryme or reason.... heh But anywase, to my question, Can I unplug my IDE drive with LILO on, install XPee or 2k on the usual partition, when I need to go to XPee or 2k set the SATA to boot first, then when I need to go back to Linux, set to boot off the IDE. I was refering to Steam, I kept getting some goofy error about access violations. Got it working now though......heh Didnt realise there was cedega 4.4.1-1, I was running 4.4.1. I know the petition is written very badly, glad I didnt write it.... (had I written it, it prolly would have been much worse...... )

I got Gkrellm and LM_sensors installed. What that Webtemp does is send a screenie of the temps, like the image up there, and ftp it to a websever or what ever, at diffrent intervals, I think I have it set to 15 minutes. Be a cool sig banner I think, but it just for windows.... I should have been more clear on my question...... :D

It wasnt gqcam at all, I hooked my old Ezonics EZcam POS :D and it fired right up. Also, I got my scanner working, without anyone holding my hand.....:D Slowly getting there....... :D :D

I installed gqcam via MCC. Perhaps it's my install, things have been a little screwy this time around........ (still trying to get digi cam and scanner working, but not a real high priority) I also dloaded the source for gqcam, and both user and root errors. GTK+ is installed. I dont know, oh well....... :D :D

Been Googling all day. So I thought I might post here.
