Hey guys/gals,

Once again, this newbie needs a bit of assistance. I am trying to install QtFprot which is a front end to F-Prot antivirus, and while running the ./configure, I get the error message :

Checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

I am running Mandrake 9.2. Not sure on what this means or what is needed to be installed.

Any assistance would be great.

:puter:

BVC,

Thanks for the info. Do you, or anyone else reading this, know of a good place to learn about installing software on Linux? I have been spoiled by Windows installers where everything that is needed is included in the executable.

I am trying to learn, and as such I am using only Linux to perform my daily duties, but I have a long ways to go.

Everything you need is either on your hd, on your cd's (HOWTO's, Books), or even online like the links at the top of the page.

http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/index.html

The HOWTO's

Look in /usr/share/doc

Then there's the man, info, and help commands

man rpm

rpm --help

man urpmi

urpmi --help

....urpme, urpmf, urpmq, rpmbuild, tar, bzip2, gunzip, and much, much more! :D
