energymedia
Hey guys/gals, Once again, this newbie needs a bit of assistance. I am trying to install QtFprot which is a front end to F-Prot antivirus, and while running the ./configure, I get the error message : Checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths! I am running Mandrake 9.2. Not sure on what this means or what is needed to be installed. Any assistance would be great. energymedia
BVC, Thanks for the info. Do you, or anyone else reading this, know of a good place to learn about installing software on Linux? I have been spoiled by Windows installers where everything that is needed is included in the executable. I am trying to learn, and as such I am using only Linux to perform my daily duties, but I have a long ways to go.
bvc
Everything you need is either on your hd, on your cd's (HOWTO's, Books), or even online like the links at the top of the page. http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/index.html The HOWTO's Look in /usr/share/doc Then there's the man, info, and help commands man rpm rpm --help man urpmi urpmi --help ....urpme, urpmf, urpmq, rpmbuild, tar, bzip2, gunzip, and much, much more! :D
