william
After compiling mplayer CVS, I had to install skins and fonts in order to get mplayer in GUI mode working properly. I've downloaded some CODEC's in a all-in-one bz2 file but don't know where to put its contents. I've checked /usr/local/share/mplayer/ but only "Skin" and "font" dirs are available. In my ~/.mplayer there isn't any dir than the one I've created to insert the fonts. In the "main" dir, I have a bunch of dirs, but any specific (i suppose) to place the codecs . Thanks for the help. scoopy
Not sure where they would go, but I can check my system later tonight and try to find where all my codecs are. I stuck with the regular Mandrake issued rpms of mplayer and mplayer-gui and it plays 99 % of my stuff, including quicktime and windows media video. I found it did not play the newer wmv version 9 stuff tho, so I installed the win32-codecs rpm available from PLF. You can find it on our dowload server if your interested at: ftp://mandrake-forum.org/pub/PLF/mandrake/9.2/i586/
sarah31
/usr/lib/win32 if it does not exist create it (you likely will have to create the directory as root)
william
Thanks to all. Sarah, win32 was already there, just added some additional condecs.
