polemicz
Decided to go to evolution 1.4 on 9.1 using Texstar's rpms. Installation was fine, but when I went to run evolution I got the following error: evolution:relocation error: /usr/lib/evolution/1.4/libeshell.so.0: undefined symbol ORBit_skel_class_register Anyone run into this and have any ideas? I do have gnome 2.2 installed, but use KDE. Thanks in advance

capnkirby
I ran into a problem with Tex's evolution as well, although I don't recall if it was this. Either way, I just went to Ximian's web site Ximian download page and used their installer. It works very easily, as does their red carpet service which resolves dependencies if needed. polemicz
Thanks, needed to upgrade the bonobo stuff and install ORBit. So much for urpmi dealing with all dependencies.
DragonMage
Well.. urpmi's dependencies handling only works as well as the person doing the urpmi database. That is, if the person forgot to put ORBit or bonobo stuffs (at least certain version needed) in the database, then urpmi won't do anything. Debian apt-get is like that also. The thing is, with texstar, you have to update to all his packages, or certain things don't work. I'm not putting him down as a bad package maker since I use his packages myself, but sometimes people forgot.
