Guest dmatlock Posted October 31, 2003 Report Share Posted October 31, 2003 Hi i just installed 9.2 & i am having problems with the onboard sound card. it plays sound, but it is also constantly crackling & humming. it makes the same crackling/static sounds even when i move the mouse. its using the snd-trident driver with alsa i think. any suggestions? rimmer Posted October 31, 2003 Report Share Posted October 31, 2003 have you try to lower you sound output from aumix and plays with the base or the trebble.. aumix is not by default in mdk 9.2 but just as root : urpmi aumix and then try to ply with the slides bar.. i was having the same proble with a SBlive and it was becaus it was set to 100% and 100% is too loud try like 90%. hope this helps...
