Guest JGoddard
Hi, I am trying to install gspca so that I can get my webcam working, I have downloaded the tar.gz files and unpacked them. I then try to compile gspca as directed using: ./gspca_build but I get an error message saying: " FATAL you need to install the Kernel Source for your running kernel " My question is, how do I know what kernel I am running, and where can i go to get the Source for it? *I am running Mandriva Spring 2009 using KDE, installed off a One CD. dexter11
Type uname -a in a terminal program (Konsole in KDE) for the kernel in use. Then you have to install the matching kernel source in the software installer.
jkerr82508
I think that to build a kernel module he will need a kernel-*-devel package not the kernel-source package. http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Releases/Mandriva/2008.0/Notes#Source_and_headers Jim
