derxen
Not sure this is the right forum, but here goes: At work I have to submit to the whims of a computer running the Evil Empire's OS. It's hooked up to a LAN served by a Novell server. I rarely use any of the programs (I have mozilla and OOo on my harddisk), but I do use my partition on the network drive for backups, and of course the internet connection and one of the network printers. So I wondered whether I could get around windows altogether by using a bootable cdrom distro like knoppix or gnoppix. Would I still be able to use network services? And if it is possble, is it perhaps more hassle than is worth it? In your answer, please assume I know sod all about networking (as you might have guessed). derxen
